  • Victor Mravlag’s 4th annual Wax Museum was a hit

Victor Mravlag’s 4th annual Wax Museum was a hit! The fourth grade researched individuals from the Revolutionary War era and embraced their character as parents and students alike stepped into the 1770’s and met some of the country’s most historic figures. General George Washington, Paul Revere, Benjamin Franklin, and King George are just a few of the many people present during the museum. For this PBL, student’s in all fourth grade classes (Mrs. Armento, Mrs. Dietz, Mrs. Luzardo, and Mr. Marsal) learned how to research, use PowerPoint, and speak in public to a group of their peers and adults. As you can see from the pictures, they had a blast!

  • Idiom Project

Victor Mravlag students in Ms. Johnson’s 5th and 8th grade classes were learning about Figurative Language Devices and Techniques. Students analyzed IDIOMS via an interactive and creative project. They researched an IDIOM of their choice, discovered the history and origin of that idiom and then displayed them on a T-SHIRT or HAT. These students had the opportunity to interview other students and staff around the building to try to guess which idiom students selected and what those idioms meant. Students enjoyed themselves greatly!

  • A Message from Board President Stanley Neron

Yesterday, late afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m., Michael Da'shon Eargle, a young man of 28 years who attended Elizabeth Public Schools lost his life at the hands of gun violence. This senseless act of violence happened in broad daylight, at a time when children from our schools were walking home. Our children and our community members are not expendable. How many young lives do we have to lose to recognize our conflicts can be resolved with the voice of reason before responding with the hands of violence?
